Lets Go Sunshine brightens up favourite backers

Lets Go Sunshine justified market confidence to run out the three and a half length winner of the two mile seven furlong beginners' chase at Downpatrick with John Cullen doing the steering.

Colin Bowe 's charge had already won a hurdle race over course and distance and showed his liking for the track when outbattling Strolling Home up the steep finish.

Winning trainer Bowe said: "We are going well. We will give him a break as he wants good ground so it looks like next year for him. He handled today as the jar was taken out of the ground."

Strolling Home's jockey Paul Townend was given a two-day ban for excessive force and frequency on the gelding by the stewards.
