Lily's Prince was the only one of the eighteen in the Fairyhouse.ie Apprentice Handicap to have won at the track before and he did it again over the six furlongs at the County Meath venue today under Gary Phillips.

There were a few of Lily's Prince's opponents, that looked like winners through the concluding stages of this sprint, but the victorious 14/1 chance pulled out enough to hold Teeline and Hatton Cross by a neck and two and a half lengths.

"There is a scarcity of six furlong races like this and although he's had a hard season, we said we'd keep him going for this. He's won four now this year," revealed Garvan Donnelly who has care of Lily's Prince for Martin Sheridan.

"I knew in an apprentice race they would go fast, and told Gary to ride him for luck. He's like a lot of mine in that he would appreciate a little give on grass and doesn't mind the all-weather."

The Stewards fined William Coleman O'Brien, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Charmingandpretty in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards interviewed Patrick Martin, trainer of She's Not Simple concerning the conduct of this horse who refused to race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Having considered the evidence and taken into account the horse's recent record in this regard, the Stewards suspended She's Not Simple from races started by stalls for sixty days.
