Today's meeting at Limerick has been cancelled due to snow.

Just before 11am a decision was made to put racing back half an hour (to 2.30pm) due to road conditions but it is currently snowing in Limerick and the card has now been cancelled.

The stewards of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board met with riders Davy Russell and Robbie Power, Brian Power representing Gordon Elliott, David O'Brien representing Eddie Harty, Patrick O'Callaghan Limerick Racecourse Manager and Val O'Connell the Clerk of the Course to consider the running of the meeting following a rapid deterioration in the weather conditions owing to snow since 12noon.

Having spoken to all concerned the stewards cancelled the meeting in the interest of safety.

Navan was also due to host racing today but an early-morning decision was taken to cancel the fixture due to a covering of snow.

All the action in Britain today - Carlisle and Ffos Las - has also been lost due to the cold snap.
