After finishing second with Fantastic Bob in the opener, trainer Austin Leahy and owner Ellen Leahy had better luck in the second as their Rheinland took the Greenmount Conference Centre Mares Maiden Hurdle.
The 5yo winner ran a cracker on her last start at Killarney recently to finish second behind Sizing Symphony at 33/1.
She won a bumper in April of this year at Tramore beating Jacksonslady into second on that occasion.
Having rode his first winner under National Hunt rules at Ballinrobe on Monday aboard his father Eric's, Khayar, winning jockey Emmet McNamara followed up here at his local track on the 5/1 (backed from 7/1 this morning) second favourite.
The winning daughter of Humbel came widest of all entering the straight and disputed the lead with, the eventual runner-up, The Grey Express and, the third, Our Ellie B approaching the second last. She soon hit the front after that flight and stayed on best from there asserting on the run-in to score by two lengths at the line.
Just an neck separated the aforementioned second and third, at 11/2 and 25/1 respectively. Glibin for Colin Bowe was the only horse punters wanted to know about, as she was sent off the favourite. However she quickly faded on the turn in for home and finished a disappointing seventh at the finish.
Winning trainer Austin Leahy, who trains in Kilmallock, Co Limerick said afterwards: "We might give her a little break now and then go to Killarney for a Handicap Hurdle."
