Arya Tara provided Ana O'Brien with her biggest success to date, as she took the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Stanerra Stakes.

O'Brien who was earlier successful on Three Majors was also completing her first ever double, while her brother, winning trainer Joseph, was recording his first Stakes success.

The progressive daughter of Dylan Thomas won her maiden at Tipperary in May before following up in the Apprentice Derby at the Curragh.

She completed her hat-trick at Roscommon earlier this month, and stepped up to a mile and six for the first time today she was sent off the 6/4 favourite.

Settled in second behind Etched she was ridden to lead with over a furlong to race, and kept on well from there to score by a length. Avenante (13/8) kept on to take second under Declan McDonogh for John Oxx, while Glenmayne was half a length back in third.

The winning rider said afterwards: "She's been improving away all the while and everything comes so natural to her. She's a lovely filly.

"She relaxes anywhere you put her and tries very hard."

Joseph O'Brien added: "She's a well-bred filly and has been progressing through handicaps. It's great to get her to win a Listed race. She stays very well.

"That's my first stakes winner and Ana's as well so it's a good evening.

"We'll probably find a group race for her now. There is the Group 3 Leger trial at the Curragh and she might take her chance in that."

The winner is owned by Annemarie O'Brien, mother of the winning rider and trainer.
