The Eoin Doyle trained 4/6 favourite Lookoutnow won the Curran South East Cleaners Handicap Hurdle in the manner an odds-on shot should.

The 8yo son of Beneficial faced just three rivals in the 2m 5f contest with four of the eight declared coming out this morning.

Ridden by Mikey Butler (his first winner since his claim was reduced to three pounds) he led and disputed the lead with Raven’s Feather before he went for home before the second last.

He went clear between the last two flights and he stayed on well from there to record a very easy thirteen length success.

The Liz Doyle trained Raven’s Feather just hung on for second under Brian O’Connell at 6/1 while the 9/4 second favourite Kilnafrehanstar was a short head back in third under Paul Townend for John Kiely.

Eoin Doyle said afterwards: "On form he was entitled to win. He is well in over hurdles compared to his chase mark (117 to 102).

"He might for for a handicap chase now at Gowran on Thyestes Day."
