Loughran at his best aboard Ten Fires

The concluding race this afternoon at Thurles was won by the Dessie Hughes trained Ten Fires in the hands of Roger Loughran.

Loughran made his progress aboard the Acambaro gelding from 4 out, the pair were entering the straight and despite a mistake at the last they kept on well to score by two lengths.

Winning trainer Hughes said afterwards: "It was great he won considering he jumped so poorly. He's not a natural jumper at all but hopefully he'll be better on better ground."

"He did really well to win today."
