Ger Lyons has raised doubt over the participation of Who’s Steph in the Juddmonte Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh later this week.

The daughter of Zoffany claimed her third victory at Group Three level when landing the Munster Oaks at Cork earlier this month, and on Monday Lyons left his filly in Friday’s 10-furlong Group One.

However, speaking at a press event at the Curragh on Tuesday, the trainer revealed that although conditions are suitable at present, he fears the ground may be too quick for her by the weekend.

He said: “She’d run if the race was today, but she won’t run if the forecast is correct. There could be firm in the going description by the weekend and she can’t run if there’s firm in the description.

“I don’t have to make a decision until declaration time, so that’s when I’ll make the call.”
