Maudlin Magdalen recorded her third win of the season, and her biggest success to date, as she made all to win the feature at Killarney, the At The Races Kingdom Gold Cup (Fillies) Handicap.

The Donal Kinsella trained five-year-old won at Leopardstown and Bellewstown earlier in the summer and was second to Aurelia Cotta at Gowran last week.

Stepped up in trip to a mile and three for just the second time this evening she was sent off a 3/1 chance under Ian Queally.

Sent straight to the front by Queally she was pushed along with two furlongs to race.

She received reminders over a furlong out and soon extended her advantage, keeping on well to win comfortably by two and three parts of a length. Break My Mind (9/2) came through to take second under Robbie Downey for Eddie Lynam while the 2/1 favourite Sidra was a further half a length back in third under Leigh Roche for Dermot Weld.

Donal Kinsella said afterwards: "She did it well and Ian gave her a fine ride. The course here suits her well.

"We had been running her over a mile and when she got nine and a half furlongs well at Gowran last time we decided to give this a go."
