Grand National runner-up Magic Of Light will contest the Saturday's Grade 2 Matchbook Betting Podcast Mares’ Hurdle at Ascot as the Jessica Harrington trained mare bids to complete a second hat-trick of big-race wins in England.

Successful in three consecutive runnings of the Newbury Pertemps Network Mares Chase, the daughter of Flemensfirth, who finished second in the 2019 Grand National to Tiger Roll, has also won the last two renewals of the Ascot hurdle and will attempt a treble.

Harrington's daughter Kate Harrington reports “Magic Of Light runs at Ascot on Saturday. She is going for a hat-trick in the race and is in great form.

“Adam Wedge will ride and she will go over on the ferry at lunchtime on Thursday.

“She is entered in the Gold Cup and the Mares’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and mum is thinking of running her in the Gold Cup.

“Impact Factor (a Grade B chase winner at Fairyhouse in November) won’t go for the Clarence House and will instead run in the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase at Leopardstown on February 6.”
