Jockey Kevin Manning completed a treble at Dundalk today as he steered Mainicin to win the Winter Series At Dundalk 2018 Handicap, to provide his father-in-law, trainer Jim Bolger with a double on the day.

Daughter of Teofilo, Mainicin, a 20/1 shot, was today claiming her sixth career win and a third course success, when beating Johann Bach by half a length.

Manning had earlier won the opening two races, on the Peter Fahey trained Canford Art and with Bolger's Theobald

Following Mainicin's win, Ger Flynn, Bolger's travelling head man, said “that’s her sixth win and her third win up here. She’s tough and consistent and we like her a lot. Hopefully she can come back up here after the New Year and continue on.

“She’s made the running to win a few times but can be ridden any way and is very versatile.”
