Reserve Mary Salome made the most of her opportunity when landing the opening fillies' handicap at Limerick.

Chris Hayes asked the 25/1 shot for her effort in the final quarter of a mile of this extended six furlong contest and she soon closed.

She was ridden into a narrow lead at the furlong pole and kept up the gallop to fend off staying-on Thiswaycadeaux (8/1) by half a length. Time Stands Still the 11/2 favourite, was a further length and a half away in third.

Trainer Madeleine Tylicki said: "That was good and I'm delighted with her as we were very disappointed with her the last day. She was in good order but, I don't know, maybe with the time of the year she wasn't herself on the day.

"We drew a line through it and were delighted to get in (as a reserve) this morning and she is versatile ground-wise. She is a good-looking filly and please God we have another day out like this.

"We got the call early this morning, half an hour before the departure time so it was good timing!"

The Stewards interviewed D. Donovan, trainer of Dandyman Port, concerning the conduct of this horse who refused to race when the stalls opened. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned. Dandyman port was subsequently examined by the I.H.R.B. Veterinary officer at the request of the Stewards and was found to be post race normal. Having considered the evidence and taken the animals previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Dandyman Port from running for 60 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 14(iii).
