Willie McCreery is hoping for more rain as he prepares to saddle two exciting fillies in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The Curragh handler supplemented both Epona Plays and Insinuedo for the €250,000 Group 1 contest earlier this week.

Epona Plays comes into the ten furlong event off the back of an impressive win over a mile in the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes at the track last month.

She will be joined in the line-up by Insinuendo who won the Group 3 Blue Wind Stakes at Naas on her last appearance.

“Every bit of rain will help both of them. They are both in good form,” said McCreery.

“I'm not sure at the minute what the jockey arrangements will be.

“I'm delighted with both of them, they are both going with good chances, and I just thought the way the race cut up that I had to take a chance.

“I was definitely going with Epona Plays but I said I'd take the chance with Insinuendo as well.

“It was soft ground the last day Epona Plays won and the quicker going is a bit of a worry but we have to take our chance.

“Insinuendo is unexposed and she's improving, she's going the right way as well. She's in the Group 2 (Kilboy Estate Stakes) on Oaks weekend as well. I didn't put Epona Plays in that as she would have had a penalty.

“We'll let both of them take their chance and see what happens as it could cut up to eight or ten runners.”
