Declan McDonogh is relishing the prospect of partnering Ivan Grozny in the Ebor at York on Saturday.

The former champion jockey rode the Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old for the first time at last month's Galway Festival and a hugely-impressive victory saw him leap to the head of ante-post lists for this weekend's lucrative handicap on the Knavesmire.

McDonogh admits Thursday's draw will likely have a significant bearing on his chances.

He said: "It's great to be asked to ride him again and I'm really looking forward to it.

"It will be a different test to Galway but he has plenty of racing experience over hurdles and has a lot of pace to get into a position.

"A lot will depend on what draw he gets.

"It looks like the ground will be fairly quick. It's possible they could get a shower or two and I'm sure they will have the ground in good condition."
