Vics Canvas will head straight to the Randox Health Grand National at Aintree without another run.

Dermot McLoughlin's teenager finished third to Rule The World last season at 100-1 but has not been sighted since then.

Now 14, he is part-owned by At The Races presenter Gary O'Brien along with several friends that make up the Bodeen Bandits Syndicate.

"He's riding away but he won't get a run between now and the National," said McLoughlin.

"I'll speak to the lads, but it is only seven weeks to the race and if he was to have a prep run, he'd have top weight and it might bottom him out.

"He has a grand weight, though, and is one or two pounds below last year, so you'd have to be happy.

"He's number 48, but looks sure to get a run."
