Mini gets Doyle back on a winner

Mini Vic was the second horse to win for a trainer/jockey combination in Ireland today, winning the concluding race of the year, the W&T Racecourse Ladies Bumper at Tramore today for Liz Doyle (her final winner on her final ride).

The 11/4 second favourite eventually headed Silver Circle inside the final furlong before staying on for a narrow win over Crystal Earth

Afterwards Doyle, riding her first winner since steering Rating Queent’s win at Thurles in March 2008, explained “I have a four month old baby at home and I’m bed after that!”

“I won on both Mini Vic’s two sisters (including Rating Queen) - she is very brave and I asked her to go on when we came down the hill. However, she is too small to go over fences.”

Earlier in the day, trainer/jockey Denis Hogan won a handicap chase at Punchestown with Luke’s Benefit.
