Saltonstall and Politicise are doing Ado McGuinness and his team proud, and there could be more to come from the pair before the end of 2020.

Saltonstall took a second COLM QUINN BMW Mile Handicap at Galway in July, before going in at 25/1 in the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Munster Mile Handicap at Limerick last time.

Politicise meanwhile, won at Kilbeggan and Gowran, but really struck gold in the Grade B Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Handicap Hurdle at Listowel.

“Saltonstall was entered on Saturday (in the Trigo Stakes at Leopardstown) but we will wait and go for the Listed race (Glencairn Stakes at Naas) the following week over a mile," said McGuinness.

“He was very good last time in Limerick and he even surprised me a bit as I didn’t think he would go on the ground. He is a very good horse and any one that wins back-to-back Galway Mile’s is not a bad horse.

“We had good value for claiming the 7lb off him in Limerick but he would have won even without claiming the 7lb.

“He’s just enjoying life at the moment and long may it last. I’ve done very little work with him between his races and he’s going to get the same again.

“Politicise will go for the November Handicap if he gets in. He won well at Gowran the last day but I would be a little bit worried whether he will scrape in or not.

“We had him entered in Cheltenham this weekend but we are going to wait. We might go to the Greatwood Hurdle or if not we’ll wait and go for one of the big spring handicap hurdles. We’ve a lot to look forward to with him.”
