Just four went to post for the Go Racing At Thurles Mares Beginners Chase and Mrs Lovett took advantage of a good opportunity in this 2m2f event under Davy Russell.

A dry morning resulted in the ground description being revised to good to firm (good in places) and likely favourite Forge Meadow was taken out along with Alighting, while Comehere Hi (off feed) was another non-runner.

Roger Loughran ensured a strong pace aboard outsider Indian Music and field was further reduced when Famous Day fell at the second fence.

Russell reeled in the front-runner early in the straight, and the Gordon Elliott-trained 2/5 chance asserted before the last to score by a comfortable three lengths. Kilbarry Calling kept on at one pace to take the runner-up spot, with Indian Music weakening to finish a further 16 lengths adrift.

Russell said, "She jumped well and did everything right and it was grand to get that out of the way."
