Heavily supported Contingency (1/1 on track to 8/13f) made a winning hurdles debut at Tramore today, landing the Hibernian Hotel (Mares) Maiden Hurdle Hurdle for her new trainer Willie Mullins and under jockey Ruby Walsh.

Mullins and his scout Harold Kirk picked daughter of Champs Elysees for 31,000gns last October and today it appeared money well spent as the four year old won easily from Osco Mosco

Mullins later commented we bought her at Newmarket Sales last year and she is a nice big filly and has always shown us a nice bit.

“We thought she'd stay so we decided to come here (2m5f race). We’re very happy with her and she will continue on in novice hurdles over a trip I think. She’ll improve and her jumping was improving as the race went on."
