Willie Mullins registered his 110th winner this term, almost double the number of winners of his nearest pursuer (Noel Meade on 56 winners) in this season’s Trainers’ Championship title, when his Vast Consumption under Paul Townend, won the www.fairyhouse.ie Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today.

Mullins later said “Vast Consumption is showing good improvement and she will try another race like that as she loves that ground. She jumps hurdles very well, she was very quick. She’ll have to step up into a higher class of handicap now but she is showing improvement.”

Vast Consumption was the second winning daughter of stallion Rudimentary to win on the day, following the win of Knockmehill Lady earlier.
