Danny Mullins continued his great recent run by completing a 74/1 double at Clonmel this afternoon aboard Dark Outsider in the Tickincor Handicap Chase.

Mullins recorded a treble at Sligo yesterday, and is riding high in the jump jockey’s championship this season with only sidelined teenage sensation Jack Kennedy ahead of him.

The James Dullea-trained gelding led approaching the second last, and two fine jumps in the straight settled the issue.

The eight-year-old, who was landing a real touch having been as big as 12/1 earlier in the day and sent off at just 4/1, came home five lengths clear. Massinis Adventure ran a gallant race in second, while 2/1 favourite Not For You could find no extra from the second last another five and a half lengths away in third.

Dullea said, "He has been hitting the crossbar and has been unlucky more than anything else up to now.

"He is owned by a great bunch of lads who love their racing but weren't able to come today. They're a three member syndicate from Crosshaven and the girl leading him up, Jenny O'Brien, her father John is a member.

"He'll stay chasing next."
