The Naas Nursery Of Champions Handicap saw In From The Cold (9/2) gain a third win at the track when coming with a steady run under Sam Ewing to lead with half a furlong to race.

He stayed on well to beat Newgirlintown (9/2) by two lengths. Thefaithfulindian (9/1) was another four lengths back in third while the 7/2 favourite The Names Jock didn’t feature in the finish and finished eighth.

A four-time winner in all, the Alhebayeb gelding won a back-end nursery here last year and started off this season by winning the Madrid Handicap in March.

It was his first time winning over ten furlongs which he saw out well under 7lb claimer Ewing (14th winner of the season).

Winning trainer Michael Mulvany said: “He won the Madrid early in the year and he’s been consistent all year. He’s a very tough horse and he likes the ground.

“He’s going on his holidays now and hopefully he’ll be back for the Lincoln next year. That’s the target and has been for some time.

“He handles most ground but he seems to be adaptable to that. He’s had a hard year but has been consistent.”
