Munfallet gained an eighth career win at Dundalk this evening as Denis Coakley's gelding landed the concluding Bet On The Best Night Out Handicap (div 2) under the trainer's son Ross Coakley.

The son of Royal Applause served time with three trainers, Richard Hannon, David Brown and Adrian Nicholls in Britain and this evening scored a second win in Ireland since joining Team Coakley in November 2018.

Following the race Coakley junior stated “he did it well but he’s a bit of an enigma. When he puts his mind to it he has the ability and it suited today.

“I got a nice easy run of it in front. I let him roll early into the straight and to his credit he stayed going well.

“We put on cheek-pieces for the first time the last day. We said we’d just try something different and it’s a case of just tricking around with him and giving him something to think about.”
