Favourite backers in the lady riders' bumper at Tramore got burned as Nana Joan kept on best to collar well-backed Decision Time

The favourite was backed from a morning price of 11/8 down to 8/11. Katie Walsh dictated the pace in the second circuit on Decision Time with the pair tracked by Wan Cool Dude Maple Lawn raced third and Nana Joan was fourth under Liz Lalor.

Nana Joan then got a lovely run through on the inner to second passing the two furlong pole.

With over a furlong to travel, Decision Time came under Walsh's whip to go on and win the race.

However, Nana Joan was staying on to good effect and edged ahead in the final 100 yards.

She saw it out to win by half a length at 9/2 from the odds-on favourite. Marble Moon (25/1) kept on for third, beaten four lengths by the winner.

Declan Queally jnr said: "She has been knocking on the door. Things just didn't fall right for her at Tipperary. Liz gave her a great ride. I told her owner a year ago that she'd win a bumper so the stress is off now! She might go to the sales or for a maiden hurdle, we'll see what her owner want to do.

"Things have been going great and we've plenty of horses to come in next year. We only have two or three for the summer but we'll fill the yard up again for the point-to-points and hopefully we'll build a few more stables."
