Prince Of Naples flew home inside the final furlong to land the spoils in the median auction maiden at Fairyhouse. Think Big hit the lead over two furlongs from home in the six furlong contest and looked to have his rivals on the stretch before the one pole.

Robbie Colgan got a good tune from Prince Of Naples in the closing stages as he got up for a three-parts-of-a-length win.

The Sheila Lavery-trained winner, a 7/2 shot, had been placed on his two previous starts.

“I'm delighted. I thought Robbie gave him an absolutely gorgeous ride because I thought at one stage he was in trouble,” said Lavery.

“He said it just took him a while to get going and for the penny to drop. He said he absolutely loved that ground and he hit the line really well. Robbie said he's just a really nice horse.

“I didn't give him any big entries because until they won you can't really chuck them in. There are still lots of nice races and we might go for a winners of one because he still needs to learn a bit more.

“He's very well bred, he's Holy Roman Emperor, so maybe a bid will come in for him. We haven't sold a horse for a while and it's nice for the business — it takes the pressure off me. It's ultimately John's decision.

“We've always really liked him, he's a bonny little horse.”
