Katie Walsh teamed up with her husband Ross O’Sullivan (married on July 19th) to take the ML Lynch Civil Engineering Qualified Riders Race on He’s Our Man.

The eight-year-old son of Statue Of Liberty, who is a four time winner under national hunt rules, was having just his second run on the level this afternoon, and he was well-backed beforehand, opening at 7/1 with Paddy Power this morning, before going from 6/1 to 9/2 on-course.

He raced mainly in second, before being sent to the front just under two furlongs out. He was soon joined by the 4/6 favourite Marchese Marconi and Sarah O’Brien, but under a strong Katie Walsh drive, He’s Our Man just got the better of the 'jolly', scoring by a short head at the line.

Ross O'Sullivan said afterwards: "He has always been a decent jumping horse and this seems to be his ground.

"He is my stable star and Katie was very good on him. She was very strong in the finish.

"There is a meeting at Galway in a few weeks and there is a hurdle and chase there that would suit him. If he doesn’t go there he could go to Listowel."
