Father and son/trainer and jockey team Eamonn and Eoin O'Connell landed the concluding Brennan's Pharmacy Bumper at Tramore today, scoring with Bluegrass Princess.

O'Connell junior held Bluegrass Princess up in rear before making good progress in the dip, before eventually staying on strongly for a ten lengths win over the Willie Mullins trained Tts Star.

Afterwards trainer Eoin O'Connell said "I thought she'd win as she's a good mare.

“She can be a bit temperamental but when things are going right she's very good.

I don't know where we will go with her now as today was the plan and I thought the track would suit. That is Eoin's fourth winner on the track and he also has thee point-to-point wins.”

Might Bite To Prove His Worth Next Season

There is not much attention given to national hunt racing in the summer months, by punters or by the media. It is, of course, understandable given that our attention is focused on the flat season: the action at Royal Ascot, the Classics and the rest of the elements that define the summer racing season. Some punters might have a dabble at an ante post bet for Cheltenham next year, but by and large we forget about it until the autumn.
