Trainer Charlie Swan and apprentice Flat/jump-jockey Conor O'Farrell combined to win the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap with Lady Songbird at Gowran this evening.
O'Farrell held the daughter of Selkirk up in rear before making steady headway on the inner in the straight, eventually recording a length and a half success over Hujaylea
Afterwards Swan reported "Lady Songbird was too keen last year and disappointed. However, she settled well today and was given and exceptional ride by Conor (O'Farrell). Hopefully she can now win again."
