Wille Mullins' 2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own returned to winning ways at Cork today, landing the featured Grade 3 Imperial Call Chase under David Casey.

The 12 year old gelding was last successful seven runs ago at Fairyhouse in February 2014 but today had little difficulty shaking off the effort of chief form danger and only real threat Roi Du Mee going clear in the home straight for a 15 lengths win.

Mullins was at Fairyhouse, where his Shaneshill landed the earlier Grade 2 novice hurdle, but Casey later stated "he was well-in at the weights and seemed in good enough form. This was a much lower graded race that the Gold Cup but after Cheltenham, you never know how they are until you run them.

"He jumped well in front and age isn't catching up with him yet. He might be one for the Grand Steeplechase de Paris, over 3m5f, but I don't know what Willie (Mullins) might have in his head."

On His Own has appeared in two Aintree Grand Nationals (falling twice) and two Cheltenham Gold Cups (second and fifth placings), and was gaining a ninth win today.
