Big RSA Chase hope Monalee is being nursed back to health after a bad fall over Christmas.

Henry de Bromhead's inmate was "stiff and sore" after he crashed out at the 10th fences of the Neville Hotels Novice Chase.

Plans remain fluid for Monalee, but the classy thoroughbred is not short of potential targets this winter.

De Bromhead told At The Races: "There's a few nice options, a three-mile at Naas (Woodlands Park 100, January 28) and a three-mile up at Navan (Ten Up Novice Chase, February 18).

"He's been entered in the Flogas over two-five at the new Dublin Festival but we just want to see how things are."

Might Bite To Prove His Worth Next Season

There is not much attention given to national hunt racing in the summer months, by punters or by the media. It is, of course, understandable given that our attention is focused on the flat season: the action at Royal Ascot, the Classics and the rest of the elements that define the summer racing season. Some punters might have a dabble at an ante post bet for Cheltenham next year, but by and large we forget about it until the autumn.
