Trainer Kieran Purcell and jockey Tom Doyle followed up yesterday's Grade 2 heroics (with Burrenbridge Lodge) with another win at Naas today courtesy of Paddy Pub who held on for a narrow win in the Book Online At naasracecourse.com Handicap Hurdle.

Afterwards Doyle said “he jumps very well but I thought he was beaten – I thought the other horse (fast finishing neck runner-up Castle Wings on my outside had ’done’ me.

“He missed a long time and has had a few hard races which took their toll but Kieran freshened him up and that was a big help. Horses that come back from a long time off can take a long time to rediscover their form but it’s the first time he was enjoying his racing and if he continues to impover he can win again.”
