Another Palm bounced back to form as he just got up to win what was an drama filled renewal of the Bet Online At thetote.com Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase.

Ridden by Robbie Power and trained by Noel Meade, the grey son of Great Palm looked set for minor honours at the last as Supreme Doc kicked for home under Paddy Mangan.

However the Liam Burke trained gelding tied up on the run-in and Another Palm and Our Girl Lucy (who had led for much of the contest) swept past him, with the former just shading it by a nose.

The winner was returned at 20/1, the runner-up, Our Girl Lucy, was 16/1 under David Casey for Tom Cooper while Supreme Doc was half a length back in third at 20/1. Jamsie Hall completed the placings three parts of a length back in fourth at 10/1 under Keith Donoghue for Gordon Elliott while the 2/1 favourite Annie Other could only manage a disappointing fifth under Jack Doyle for his father Pat.

Sixteen horse set out for the two mile six furlong contest but just eight of them managed to complete the course.

Robbie Power said afterwards: "He toughed it out and he stayed well. The mistakes by the other horses at the second last and last gave him heart.

"Once I got to the girth of the horse in front I knew he would get there. He battled well."
