Bon Papa ran out an impressive winner of the bumper at Fairyhouse to complete a good day for owner JP McManus.

The Willie Mullins-trained newcomer was sent off 1/2 favourite to make a winning start and cruised into the lead passing the three furlong pole.

Patrick Mullins asked his mount to quicken over a furlong from home and he kept on strongly in the closing stages to post a six-and-a-half length victory over Broken Soul

The JP McManus colours had also been carried to victory twice earlier on the card when Tom Taaffe and Mark Walsh combined for a quick double with Peoples Park and I Knew Well

"He's a fine big chasing type and we may go jumping straight away with him,” said Mullins.

“He could go hurdling this season, and novice chasing next year. He looks like he will be a staying type over hurdles."
