Trainer Denis Hogan is targeting the Cheltenham Festival with his useful staying hurdler Macgiloney who is a Pertemps Final possible.
The winner of five races, Macgiloney finished third at the Cheltenham October meeting and Hogan reports “Macgiloney has had a break and we are hoping to get him back in January and work from there onwards.
“We might try and qualify him for the Pertemps. He went to Cheltenham in October but the ground was too soft for him. We ran there with the view of giving him some experience of the track. He’s still a novice this season.
“With the novice chase system opened up to December for them summer horses he could go chasing so he has a few options.”
