Jim Bolger doubled his tally in the finale at Dundalk as Gort Na Mona short-headed Passion Planet in the [email protected] Maiden. Kevin Manning was aboard this American-bred filly and of course he rode the other Bolger winner on the night too, Naoise in the 7.50.

Six to four this morning into 10/11, Gort Na Mona needed all of Manning's strength to prevail as fourth placed She's A Queen and sixth home Hootie met trouble in running at the business end.

Winning owners Brian O'Connor and Pat O'Donovan are part of the Coolcullen team and another of their number, Neil Magee said: "She's just starting to get stronger in herself. We've done some schooling with her during the week and she jumps well.

"That gives her plenty of options." (AM & EM)
