Plenty of cash was splurged on some potential stars of the future at the Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham December National Hunt Sale on Friday.

The top lot went for £400,000 as Tom Malone bought Trevelyn's Corn to be trained by Paul Nicholls. He won a point at Borris House on Sunday for Colin Bowe.

Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock made an unchallenged opening bid of £350,000 for recent Fairyhouse bumper winner Downtown Getaway who will now make his way to Nicky Henderson's Seven Barrows yard.

Earlier Jonjo O'Neill paid £300,000 for Colin Bowe's recent Mainstown winner Straight Red.

Kirkistown winner Sometime Soon created a huge impression and Gordon Elliott went to £225,000 to secure his services.
