Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh's domination of proceedings at Clonmel today continued in the Derrygrath Chase as Call The Police gave them a fourth winner on the card.
It was another short-priced success for the duo as the Accordion gelding was sent off a 5/6 shot in the 2m4f event.
Walsh was content to track the leaders before taking closer order entering the straight on the ten-year-old.
Forpadydeplasterer had hit the front four out but was soon joined by the driven along Magnanimity
Davy Russell drove the Gigginstown horse to the front entering the straight but his lead always looked set to be short-lived with Call The Police cruising in behind.
The favourite hit the front after the second last and was always doing enough, when asked for an effort by Walsh, as he went on to record a three-and-a-half length success.
The winner was supplementing his success in Grade 3 company at Thurles last month and Mullins revealed he has plenty of options for his charge:-
“He's improving and is in everything including the Grand National. I wouldn't mind bringing him back to two miles either as he's such a good jumper that he'd be able to perform at that shorter trip.
“Ruby said the ground was much softer there than on the hurdles course.”
Paddy Power left Call The Police unchanged on 25/1 for the Grand National.
