Powersville stayed on well in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap at Sligo to give Tom Mullins and Niall McCullagh a winner on the card.

She was always prominent under McCullagh and was asked for her effort off the home bend.

The four-year-old filly took over from Keepthebestsideout inside the final furlong and kept on well to win by a length and a quarter at 7/1.

Keepthebestsideout (14/1) held on to second by a head from Anythingyouwanttobe (25/1).

Niall McCullagh said: “She ran very well in the Curragh the last day. She just got tired and we felt she’d come on for the run. She got dropped 3lb as well.

“You need a bit of luck around here but the race worked out nice for me. It’s not a surprise she won but I’m on a bit of a losing streak so it’s nice to get one.”

McCullagh's last winner came on April 20th.

A gamble on recent Cork winner Aspen Belle which sent her off at 10/11f, went astray as she finished fifth.
