Cirrus Des Aigles heads a field of nine for Saturday's Prix Dollar at Longchamp.
Corine Barande-Barbe's pride and joy claimed the Group Two prize in 2010, was narrowly denied by Byword in 2011, and has been victorious again in the last two renewals.
The 10-furlong contest has proved an excellent stepping stone to Ascot's Champion Stakes for the eight-year-old, who has gone on to success in Berkshire in 2011 and finishing second to Frankel and Farhh respectively in 2012 and 2013.
Cirrus Des Aigles has been sidelined by injury since winning Epsom's Coronation Cup in early June, his sixth success at the highest level, and a return to Ascot on October 18 appears likely provided all goes according to plan this weekend.
His potential opponents on Saturday include Andre Fabre's pair of Triple Threat and Pilote, Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained duo Narniyn and Shamkala and Joe Murphy's possible Irish challenger Euphrasia.
Hughie Morrison's Melrose winner Vent De Force and Andrew Balding's Montaly are the two British contenders in the card-opening Prix Chaudenay, another race which carries Group Two status.
Murphy's Euphrasia is also in contention for the Group Two Prix Royallieu, along with the Roger Varian-trained Hadaatha, last seen taking a Listed prize at Yarmouth.
The fourth and final Pattern race prize on offer in Paris on Saturday is the Prix Daniel Wildenstein, with David O'Meara's prolific Custom Cut, who last weekend notched up his five-timer in Newmarket's Joel Stakes, heading the field.
Balding's German Group Two winner Here Comes When, William Haggas' French Group Three winner Graphic and Richard Hannon's quartet of Emell, Baltic Knight, Toormore and Shifting Power are the other Brits in the mix.
There are supplementary stages for all four races on Wednesday.
