Broder and Sean Flanagan added to a handicap win at Cork last month when taking the www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Hurdle in decisive style.

The five-year-old son of Brian Boru travelled well to head the front-running Crazyheart approaching the final flight and quickly stretched clear.

The John Joe Walsh-trained gelding, backed on track from 10/1 into 15/2, stayed on strongly to beat Crazyheart by an easy eight lengths with Off You Go half a length further back in third. Wee Tiger completed the places another 14 lengths away in fourth.

Walsh said, "The heavy ground didn't suit him at Cork the last day and it's not as bad today. I told the owner we'd go to Thurles where the ground wouldn't be as bad and he comes and wins.

"He is more a 2m4f horse and we'll look for something similar again before Christmas. He's turning out to be a nice horse. He jumps well and will be a nice chaser next year."
