Que springs back to best

Spring The Que without a win since claiming the Pierse Hurdle in 2007, bounced back to something like his best when defying top-weight in the Mallow Handicap Hurdle.

Robert Tyner 's charge, a 10/1 chance for this two miler, came to challenge at the last and he led on the run-in, eventually accounting for Echo Bob by three parts of a length.

The success was no great surprise to winning rider, Philip Enright, who said: "He ran well over fences the last day at Thurles so we thought he'd have his chance here."

Spring The Que has been a good old campaigner for his owners, the Gaelforce Racing grouping, having won his point-to-point as far back as April 2004.
