Daire McConville booted home his first racecourse winner on his father's Boogily Lane (16/1) in the final race at Fairyhouse - the second division of the two and a half mile handicap hurdle.

The grey gelding, in first-time cheekpieces, took over from Wa Wa after the third last and was on good terms with himself approaching the final quarter of a mile.

He was strongly pressed by Anigua Son after jumping two out but increased the margin at the final flight which he jumped nicely.

The 10-year-old was then driven six lengths clear of the 22/1 runner-up. Getaway Goldie was another three parts of a length back in third at 17/2.

Jockey McConville (23) said: “I’ve ridden eight point-to-point winners but that’s my first winner on the track.

“I’m still at university and just ride out at the moment for my father (Stephen).”
