It was jumps racing at its best at Tramore as four horses in contention hurtled down to the last in the two miles six chase. It was Toner D’Oudairies who saw it out best ably assisted by Davy Russell.

Toner D’Oudairies, Sin Palo Churchfield Champ and Lord Ben were the horses with chances. Although Toner D’Oudairies landed in the lead, Churchfield Champ put in a great leap and served it up to him on the run-in.

Russell had to drive out Gordon Elliott’s charge to prevail by half a length at 7/2. Churchfield Champ was second at 4s.

“He ran well over two miles in Galway and the nicer ground helped him here. He travelled well today,” Davy Russell explained afterwards.

Lord Ben went off 9/4 favourite, but was booked for fourth place after the last. Your Busy was a non-runner due to the going and Definite Ridge was ruled out due to being lame.
