El Salvador was something of a hotpot in the concluding mile-and-a-half handicap at Dundalk and duly landed the spoils.

Aidan and Anne-Marie O'Brien's charge had been backed from 5/2 into even-money this morning and was eventually sent off 11/10 favourite on course.

He disputed the lead throughout with Solo Performer before moving on turning for home.

Joseph O'Brien kicked on and took a couple of lengths from the field at the two pole and despite running a touch green the Galileo colt always had too much for his rivals, going on for a two-and-a-half length success.

33/1 shot Wrekin Rock came through to claim the runner-up spot.

The winner was supplementing his maiden win over course and distance two weeks ago.

“He has a great attitude. It's only his fourth run and he's improving all the time,” said the winning rider afterwards.
