Preview fairyhouse 29th Nov

While the Grade One fireworks at Fairyhouse are saved until Sunday, there's plenty for punters to get their teeth into on Saturday's card, including Rubi Light's return to the handicap ranks in the HB Dennis Land Rover Handicap Chase.

Robbie Hennessy's bold jumper has been keeping top level company over fences and could have been given a chance by the assessor, while Lucky William also drops into handicaps after failing to complete in three Grade Twos.

Sitcom, a winner at Cork last time, and consistent handicapper Dick Dundee add further spice to the race.

Stocktons Wing tops the weights for the Roy Evans/Barry Geraghty Golf Classic Handicap Hurdle after his recent success at Down Royal saw the handicapper raise him 7lb.

A wealth of talent are in opposition, including Willie Mullins' recent Limerick second Shamar, Arthur Moore's improving Galway runner-up Dandridge and Tony Martin's Elishpour, who went down by just half a length at Navan.

Mullins gives Adriana Des Mottes her first start over fences in the opening Boylesports Irish Grand National At Fairyhouse Beginners Chase (11.55).

A Grade One winner against her own sex last year, she gets lumps of weight from her rivals, including the hugely impressive hurdler Rule The World, who was last seen finishing sixth in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Mullins also has strong claims in the Kettles Hotel Supporting Fingal Ravens GAA Fundraiser Flat Race courtesy of Royal Caviar, who lost a Grade Two bumper on appeal, while Long Dog represents the champion trainer in division two of the Happy 80th Birthday Peter Donnelly Maiden Hurdle, having bolted up in a Sligo maiden for Andrew Oliver in August of last year.

The Irish Racing Yearbook Rated Novice Hurdle is an open affair, with Couleur France, Lord Scoundrel and Kolaphos taking on the hat-trick seeking Mr Diablo.
