Patrick Prendergast has hit a rich vein of form and the Curragh handler sent out his third winner in 24 hours when Bogardus took the Amanda Brunker Judges Littlewoods Ireland Ladies Day Rated Race at Wexford.

Successful with Manalapan and Windward Passage on Friday's evening card at Down Royal, Prendergast was again represented by a horse carrying the colours of Richard Barnes.

Only three went to post and Gary Halpin was keen to grab the front-running berth on Bogardus (evens favourite), who readily reversed form with his recent Dundalk conqueror Calorie on better terms, running on strongly to win by a neck.< Sindarban was backed as if defeat was out of the question in the Littlewoods Ireland Ladies Day Maiden and all looked to be going to plan as he hit the front approaching the two pole after getting a nice tow along until then.

But Dermot Weld's newcomer Renown (7-1), a half-brother to Famous Name, was still on the premises despite running green, and Pat Smullen got a great tune out of him in the final half-furlong as he swept past to score by a length.

The victory was one of three for Smullen, who gave Sabrina Harty's 7-2 shot Empress Toorah a fine front-running ride in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, keeping plenty up his sleeve to hold favourite Celestial Fable by a length.

He completed his treble in the two-mile Gorey Handicap when James Lambe's veteran Hunting Tower (9-2) got the better of Carpet Elegance in a fierce duel through the final quarter-mile to win by a neck.

Fran Berry led all the way to take the Audrey McGrath Memorial Handicap on David Wachman's 11-4 chance An Fear Ciuin while Emmet McNamara drove Andrew Heffernan's Cin Cin (6-1) ahead deep inside the final furlong to land the Slaney Handicap.
