Seville Star atoned for his narrow debut defeat at Navan when running out a convincing winner of the Hermitage Green Maiden at Leopardstown.

Kevin Manning tracked front-runner Military Hill on the 6/5 favourite and he hit the front over a furlong from home.

The Jim Bolger-trained Lope de Vega gelding powered clear in the closing stages for a five-length victory in the seven-furlong contest.

The winner had been well backed on his debut at Navan just six days ago when he was just collared close home.

“He was supposed to do that at Navan — it's better late than never!” said Bolger.

“I've no plans for him at the moment. He'll probably go abroad for export.”
