There was drama at the start in the concluding Killarney Racecourse Handicap as 11/4 favourite Bay Hill became fractious in the stalls and had to be withdrawn. That necessitated a 25 cent Rule 4 to all bets with 7/1 shot Shinghari eventually coming out on top under Killian Hennessy.

On start two for the Denis Hogan yard the Cape Cross gelding got the better of Beau Et Sublime by a length.

On his return from a 940 day break Sea The Lion ran very well to be three lengths back in third.

Denis Hogan said: "It was a great ride by Killian. He's been coming into me the last few Saturdays and claims a valuable 5lb. The horse battled well for him.

"He's been on the improve lately at home. He's one for Galway as he stays and will come up the hill. He's by Cape Cross but likes a bit of an ease."

The Stewards informed C.Roche, trainer that Bay Hill, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
