Siegemaster Best in Eventful Heat

Despite an indifferent round of jumping (particularly two out) Siegemaster justified 11/8 favouritism in the Ten Up Novice Chase to complete a double for Davy Russell. The Corkonian had earlier landed one of the other Grade 2s on the programme, aboard Made In Taipan

Michael O'Leary, the winning owner, and his brother Eddie, were on hand to witness their charge take command of this three miler when left in front by the independent departures of Bronte Bay and Florida Express three out.

Winning trainer, Dessie Hughes said: "Davy said that none of them really jumped. The ground is like a quagmire. At least he won anyway."

Michael O'Leary was presented with his prize by Italian Ambassor, Dr. Lucio Alberto Savoia. He informed the Ryanair boss that he arrived this morning courtesy of a one Euro Ryanair flight. (EM)
