Denise 'Sneezy' Foster upstaged better fancied Dermot Weld and Jim Bolger-trained runners when gaining her first flat winner with Sli Na Fiarana (Wayne Lordan up) in the Follow Dundalk On Facebook Maiden.
The victorious Dr Fong filly chased the pace-setting outsider Loughderg Princess until taking over a furlong and a half out. Odds-on favourite Train Of Thought wasn't transformed by the fitting of blinkers and Sli Na Fiarana pulled out much too much for him to prevail by a length and a quarter.
Mrs Foster said: "I only took out a licence to train on the flat at Christmas.
"The filly loved that trip – she was very genuine and tough. We'd have preferred to have had something in front of her for longer though.
"Hopefully we can have a lot of fun with her and I'd say she'd jump a hurdle." (AM & EM)
